All About Sushi
I really haven’t craved many things during my 13 weeks of pregnancy, so when I started craving one specific food item constantly this week it really threw me off.
Sushi.
That’s all I want.
Morning…noon…night…sushi…all the time.
WTF is wrong with me!? I’m craving something that I’ve been told my many moms is a total no-no item. I’m not just talking about the raw stuff here (which I mostly find eww anyway), but I’ve been told ALL sushi is off limits.
Luckily I had the sushi discussion with my ob/gyn this week, and she cleared me for it as long as I stay away from anything raw or seared. Smoked isn’t very good for me either, but she said smoked salmon is ok in small amounts if I’m continously eating at the same restaurant. In other words stick to the typical fish in moderation rule, and eat at the same restaurant instead of jumping around. That way if I do happen to get sick we don’t have to narrow down which restaurant gave me food poisoning…which isn’t really something we have to worry about too much since I’m only eating the fully cooked stuff anyway.
You know what that means right?
We’re totally having Sushi for dinner. California rolls and Angus rolls ftw!
