One Mad Mama
We had to go to Greenville for Elliana’s MRI today, and let me say I’m not a happy camper. First of all Greenville Hospital is huge, and I hate the layout. When we arrived we were ushered into a room where we were made to wait for an hour after our appointment time before we even got to fill out paperwork.
Then after waiting forever we were sent to the radiology department. The only way to get to radiology is to walk straight through the middle of the food court, and it happened to be right at noon. I was seriously pissed because here I am trying to keep my preemie daughter away from large crowds of germ carrying people. That’s the only thing the doctor has specifically asked us to do, and here we were stuck right in the middle of a huge sea of germ carriers.
We had to weave in and out dodging lines of people waiting to order food at various vendors, and it took us a good 10 minutes just to navigate through the food court. That’s how packed it was.
Once we got to radiology my blood pressure (which still isn’t back to normal) continued to rise as we found out the neonatal MRI machine wasn’t going to be used. They strapped our teeny little baby girl into the regular MRI machine and wrapped a towel around her face to hold a bottle in her mouth so she wouldn’t move. If we’d known that’s what they were going to do the MRI could have been done at home saving us an hour drive.
Needless to say I’m not in a very good mood now. This is one of those days I seriously need a bubble bath, but unfortunately I’m not allowed to take a bath until my doctor clears me at my 6 week appointment on December 5.
